It is generally prepared by reacting Lanthanum carbonate and acetic acid, preparing a solution and then concentrating and crystallizing.

 

 

 

Lanthanum Acetate is a chemical substance with a molecular formula of La(C2H3O2) 3 ·4H2O, a white snow-like solid, soluble in water and deliquescent in humid air. It is generally prepared by reacting Lanthanum carbonate and acetic acid, preparing a solution and then concentrating and crystallizing.

*Lanthanum acetate is used to make other compounds and oil additives for lanthanum chloride and lanthanum chloride. It is also used for chemical industry additives, catalysts and automobile exhaust purification. Dissolved in water, at 18 C, 100mL water can dissolve anhydrous 20.43g. Soluble in benzene. It is heated to 760 C and decomposed into lanthanum oxide. 

*It is mainly used in specialty glass, water treatment and catalyst. Used as intermediate of Lanthanum compounds. They are an excellent source of Lanthanum Acetate for applications requiring solubilized materials.
