Adipic acid, also known as fatty acid, is a carboxylic acid type of organic compounds, can be used as chemical reagents, but also used in plastics and organic synthesis. It is a white crystalline powder, slightly soluble in water and acidic when soluble in water. Adipic acid, as the basic component unit of a variety of chemical products, is the most important aliphatic dicarboxylic acid in the production of industrial Chemicalbook so far. About 3 million tons of adipic acid are used to synthesize nylon 66 monomer every year worldwide.
