Guanidine carbonate is an extremely widely used organic fine chemical products, mainly used in the synthesis of flame retardants, flocculants, foaming agents, sulfonamides, etc. Guanidine carbonate is also used as a synergist in synthetic detergents and as an ingredient in high-end cosmetics. There are many reports on the synthesis of guanidine carbonate in literature [1-3]. The production of guanidine carbonate in China is mainly through the melting of dicyandiamide and ammonium chloride to generate guanidine hydrochloride, then the free guanidine is generated under the action of alkali, and then the guanidine reacts with carbon dioxide to generate guanidine carbonate. This route is easy to generate impurities such as melamine and its dimer Chemicalbook and trimer when melting at high temperature, and there are Cl- and Na+ in the system, which is difficult to completely remove during purification. Even if the purity of guanidine carbonate > 99%, its ash content is still up to 0.2%, so it is difficult to obtain high purity guanidine carbonate. In this paper, aminonitrile is used as raw material to react with carbon dioxide and ammonia in one step to synthesis of guanidine carbonate, also known as the so-called ash-free guanidine carbonate. After purification, high purity Guanidine carbonate is obtained, and the reaction equation is as follows :2NH2CN+CO2+2NH3+H20→[NH2C(:NH)NH2]2H2CO3

Application

1.It is used as a precipitant in the gravimetric determination of zinc, cadmium and manganese, as well as in the separation and organic synthesis of magnesium from alkali metals.

2.Used in organic synthesis, can make antioxidant, resin stabilizer, amino resin pH regulator, etc.

3.This product is an organic synthetic raw material and analytical reagent. It is used as pH regulator, antioxidant, resin stabilizer and guanidine soap of amino resin, and also used as additive of cement slurry agent and surface active Chemicalbook agent. In the synthetic detergent, the use of moisture resistant agent and synergist. In zinc, cadmium, manganese gravimetric determination, used as a precipitant, also used for the separation of magnesium in alkali metals.
