Triethyl phosphate has a wide range of uses, such as as an additive in textiles and paper products, as a plasticizer in plastics and coatings, as a non-reactive flame retardant, hardener and accelerator, lubricant, flotation agent, defoamer, emulsifier, stabilizer or extractant.

High boiling point solvent, plasticizer for rubber and plastics. It's also a catalyst. It is also used as raw material for making pesticide insecticides. And as an ethylating reagent for the production of vinyl ketone. In Japan, 70% of the product is used as a catalyst and about 20% as a solvent. The main uses are as follows :(1) catalyst xylene isomer catalyst; Olefin polymerization catalyst; Catalyst for the manufacture of tetraethyl lead; Catalyst for the manufacture of carbonized diimide; Substitution reaction catalyst for trialkyl boron and olefin; Catalyst for producing ketone by dehydration of acetic acid at high temperature; Catalysts for polymerization of styrene with conjugated diene compounds; If used in the polymerization of terephthalic acid Chemicalbook and ethylene glycol, it can prevent fiber discoloration. (2) solvents cellulose nitrate and cellulose acetate solvents; Solvents used to maintain the life of organic peroxide catalysts; Solvents for dispersing ethylene fluoride; For polyester resin, epoxy resin curing catalyst peroxide and diluent. (3) stabilizers Chlorine pesticides and stabilizers; Phenolic resin stabilizer; Solid agent of sugar alcohol resin. (4) synthetic resin xylene-formaldehyde resin curing agent; Softener of phenolic resin used in shell molding; Vinyl chloride softener; Plasticizer for vinyl acetate polymer; Flame retardant of polyester resins.
