Diethyl phthalate is colorless transparent oily liquid, slightly aromatic. Miscible with ethanol, ether, soluble in acetone, benzene and other organic solvents, insoluble in water.Used as plasticizer, solvent, lubricant, deodorant, foaming agent for flotation of non-ferrous or rare metal mines, gas chromatography fixing liquid, alcohol denaturant, spray insecticide. The product has good compatibility with most resins such as cellulose acetate, cellulose acetate butyrate, polyvinyl acetate, cellulose nitrate, ethyl cellulose, polymethacrylate Chemicalbook methyl ester, polystyrene, polyvinyl butyral, vinyl chloride - vinyl acetate copolymer. Mainly as cellulose resin plasticizer, but the product volatile, limited the wide application. The toxicity of this product is low, and the oral LD50 of rabbits is 1000mg/kg.
