Diethyl acetamidomalonate, DEAM is an important intermediate in organic synthesis, mainly used for the synthesis of lincomycin-24729A, Lincomycin, Mirincarmycin and Lincomycin phosphate.

Solid. The melting point is 96.5-98℃ and the boiling point is 185℃ (2.67kPa). Soluble in hot alcohol, slightly soluble in ether and hot water.

Used for the synthesis of demethylchlorinomycin hydrochloride (Lincomycin-24729A), Lincomycin (Lincomycin), Mirincarmycin and Lincomycin phosphate.

It is used in the synthesis of α -amino acids, as intermediate of tryptophan and analgesic mustard etc. Alkylation reaction is one of the key reactions to synthesize amino acids. When the product is mixed with isomol benzyl chloride, adding Chemicalbook with tetrabutylammonium bromide, sodium iodide and powdered potassium carbonate, stirring at 100℃ for 5h, cooling, filtering, washing, drying, benzyl acetaminophenolic acid diethyl ester, the yield is 92%.
