Praseodymium Acetate is a chemical substance with a molecular formula of Pr(C2H3O2) 3 ·4H2O, a Light green snow-like solid, soluble in water and deliquescent in humid air. It is generally prepared by reacting Praseodymium carbonate and acetic acid, preparing a solution and then concentrating and crystallizing.
This kind of product has wide application. As a raw materials for other Praseodymium salts and Praseodymium oxide, petroleum additives, etc. It can be used in the fields of biopharmaceutical and petroleum catalysis. Pr(no3)3.6h2o is applied to colour glasses and enamels; when mixed with certain other materials, Praseodymium produces an intense clean yellow colour in glass. Component of Didymium glass which is used to make certain types of welder's and glass blower's goggles, also as important additive of Praseodymium yellow pigments. It can be used to create high-power magnets notable for their strength and durability. It is present in the rare earth mixture whose Fluoride forms the core of carbon arc lights which are used in the motion picture industry for studio lighting and projector lights.
