Physicochemical properties 

Yellow or orange crystalline powder. 

 

It's odorless and tasteless. When heated to about 250 C, the color gradually deepens and finally becomes black gelatinous. It is insoluble in water and ethanol. It is slightly soluble in methanol. Easy to dissolve in acidic or alkaline solution.
