Meglumine (n-methyl-d-glucosamine, MChemicalbookeglumine) is an equilibrium ion widely used to improve the solubility of drugs. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol (in 100ml ethanol, 1.2g at 25℃, 21g at 70℃), almost insoluble in chloroform. The taste is slightly sweet and salty.

Manufacturing process:From glucose and a methylamine condensation after catalytic hydrogenation. Anhydrous ethanol and dried glucose were added to the reaction pot, and dried monomethylamine gas was added at 50℃. After 1.5-2h reaction, the solution was gradually clarified and kept at 50℃ for 2h to obtain glucose methylamine soluble Chemicalbook solution. It was then added into an autoclave, pressurized by hydrogen to 2.5mpa in the presence of Resignell nickel, and stirred at 80-85℃ for 1-2h. Then, after cooling and pressure relief, the upper megomethylamine ethanol solution is cooled, crystallized and filtered to get megomethylamine crude product, and then refined and finished product.
