Guanine is an organic base widely found in the kingdom of plants and animals. Chemical name is 2-amino-6-oxypurine, colorless square crystal or crystalline powder, in the presence of a large amount of excess ammonia in an aqueous solution, slowly steam water to obtain small rhomboid crystal, melting point 360℃(decomposition and partial sublimation). A glycosidic bond binds ribose or deoxyribose to guanosine or deoxyguanosine, whose triphosphate compounds are guanosine triphosphate or deoxyguanosine triphosphate, respectively, which are the precursors of guanine during RNA and DEoxyribonucleic acid biosynthesis.
